PADI Internship Program
Here is more information to help you decide if this position is right for you. If you like what you see, fill out an application! We look forward to hearing from you.
IT’S A WIN-WIN!
We have created this internship program to help you follow your scuba diving dreams while we get some help running our shop!
WHAT IS A PADI RESCUE DIVER?
PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) is the world’s leading scuba diver training organization.
A PADI Rescue Diver knows techniques to avoid and manage problems in the water. During the course, you’ll become a better buddy by enhancing your ability to identify potential problems and by practicing dive emergency protocol. The subject is serious but the training is fun – many divers tell us the PADI Rescue Diver course was their favorite!
Like most careers, scuba diving has a ladder you have to climb before you can reach the top. Rescue Diver is a great starting point. You can choose to continue your education but if you don’t, you at least have a lifetime of very safe diving ahead of you. Everyone loves a Rescue Diver for a dive buddy!
WHAT TO EXPECT
We will guide you through three certification courses from Open Water to Advanced Open Water to Rescue Diver. If you already have your Open Water or Advanced Open Water, we will take you up to Rescue.
The Rescue Diver internship we offer is different because we designed it to be accessible to our local community. Instead of offering a timed Divemaster or Instructor program, we have a more ‘go at your own pace’ setup that works with your schedule and ours. Interns usually work 2 days a week for 5 hours, 9 AM- 5 PM.
By the end of our time together you will not only be a certified PADI Rescue Diver but you will have experience running a dive shop as a customer service/retail representative. Slap those things on your resume and take yourself almost anywhere on the globe to continue living in love with the underwater world.
*The amount of time it will take to complete the internship depends on your and our availability. We will have to create the best plan of action together.
TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK
We need you to work it! We rely on our awesome representatives to keep business running smoothly. It takes focus and teamwork to get through the day. We are depending on you to hold up your end of the bargain as you work in the shop we call home.
