JOIN US for an incredible opportunity to participate in the first-ever Diveheart Adaptive Diving training in Puerto Rico!

Diveheart, a renowned non-profit organization, is dedicated to building confidence, independence, and self-esteem in individuals with disabilities through scuba diving.

Adaptive diving is a transformative experience that opens the underwater world to those with physical and cognitive challenges, providing them with unparalleled freedom and empowerment.

This training event is not only a significant step towards inclusivity in the diving community but also a chance for divers to enhance their skills and make a profound impact on others’ lives.

EVENT DETAILS:
Dates: October 17th-20th, 2024
Location: Crashboat Beach, Aguadilla (All 4 days)

TRAINING OPTIONS:

— Adaptive Dive Buddy
Prerequisites:
Open Water Diver with 20 logged dives, proficient in scuba skills including buoyancy control, CPR & First Aid certifications, 15 years or older, and in good medical condition.

— Advanced Adaptive Dive Buddy
Prerequisites:
Rescue Diver or higher with 40 logged dives, Adaptive Dive Buddy, current CPR & First Aid certifications, 30 dives with an Adaptive Diver assisting with the 4 key scuba skills, and in good medical condition.

— Adaptive Dive Instructor
Prerequisites:
Certified, renewed, and insured instructor with a recognized agency, currently an Adaptive Dive Buddy (ADB), Advanced Adaptive Dive Buddy (AADB), or enrolled in one of those courses, 30 dives with an Adaptive Diver assisting with the 4 key scuba skills, and in good medical condition.

Instructor Trainer: Gabriel Espino
Gabe is a PADI Course Director, Master Captain and a Diveheart Instructor Trainer, as a Physical Education teacher, he is very passionate about teaching. He loves the water and as a dive instructor he was able to join both passions. He takes his job seriously, but also has a great sense of humor. He has specialized in Adaptive Scuba Training and Sidemount. *Bilingual (Spanish, English)

*Bring a friend that you trust with a KNIFE, and that you trust with your LIFE for this Halloween adventure! Only ONE of these BOOtiful creations will win the prize!
*You think you have what it takes to survive this pumpkin-carving dive?! It takes buoyancy skills, focus, and teamwork to get the job done before time runs out!
*PUMPKINS must be RESERVED by Saturday, October 19th or you can B.Y.O.P (bring your own pumpkin). Each team needs one pumpkin.
*COST- If you need a pumpkin, you pay for your pumpkin! Pumpkin prices: TBA. If you need to rent gear other than a tank, that will be your only other expense. Otherwise, there is no cost for this event. Bring your gear and meet us on the beach!
*FREE TANK RENTAL INCLUDED. If you need a tank, stop by the shop before the event.
*DRESS TO IMPRESS. Costumes encouraged! Please keep your costumes diving and ECO FRIENDLY! This means nothing trailing too far off of your person in too many directions and NO GLITTER of any kind. We have to protect our reefs.

THE RULES
*Everyone will have 20 minutes to sketch out their pumpkin design before entering the water.
Once you descend, you and your partner will have 45 minutes to complete your pumpkin. You may decorate your pumpkin only with things you find IN THE WATER! Once you emerge from the depths, like zombies from a grave, the judging begins!

*Feel free to bring another tank or finish off your tanks by diving the Tres Palmas Marine Reserve around the corner
*Light snacks and beverages will be available to all participants

The Emergency First Response Course teaches you what to do in the critical moments between when a life-threatening emergency occurs and when emergency medical services arrive.

Learn how to perform CPR, provide first aid that eases pain, assess a variety of injuries and illnesses, and practice bandaging and splinting.
